Gubelin Gemmological Laboratories the world's most renowned gem laboratory

Being based in Lucerne, Switzerland, does not mean we are beyond the reach of clients located further afield. Our Off-premise Testing (OPT) facility allow us to offer our services away from our base; alternatively, a range of established courier services can ship your diamonds, coloured stones, pearls and jewellery items directly to the laboratory in Lucerne.

Gubelin Gem Lab services are now available through this swift, secure and convenient link, which offers prompt round-trip services for free or at attractive rates, and includes the handling of all customs formalities.

The schedule is simple: the shuttle leaves the courier’s office regularly each week or even daily. For exact details of the courier service, please refer to the relevant location. Consignments are returned by the courier service in accordance with the round-trip schedule specified. Delivery times (drop-off and pick-up) are known, thus permitting forward planning.

The shuttle makes readily available the extensive experience and advanced analytical techniques of the Gubelin Gem Lab. Distance need no longer equate to delay in the gemstone and jewellery business.

Benefits

Cost: we have established free shuttle services between some major cities and Switzerland. For the time being these are Hong Kong - Lucerne and New York - Lucerne. The shipping costs of these weekly shuttles are absorbed by the Gubelin Gem Lab, apart from a mandatory insurance premium of 0.10% of the indicated value, which is chargeable to the client.

For other destinations, we are able to offer a significant reducion in shipping costs. Bundling several items within one package helps further cut the cost per item.

Time: items can be back in clients’ hands within only a few days, depending on the location

Insurance: If insurance is required, our shipping partners offer preferential Gubelin Shuttle rates.

Customs: our shipping partners handle all the customs and other import and export formalities. This simplifies shipping procedures while allowing our courier service to function smoothly and efficiently.

Customer Service Representatives:

In addition to the free shuttle service, our clients in New York and Hong Kong can benefit from yet another superb service: they now have a permanent local contact person from the Gubelin Gem Lab in their immediate vicinity. The Gubelin Gem Lab has appointed one Customer Service Representative for New York and another for Hong Kong. Our clients in these two major cities will thus receive dedicated local support.
