In the 1920's, the House of Gubelin recognised the need for, and value of, a wide and well founded knowledge of the gemstones it mounted in its own pieces of jewellery. From these beginnings, a standard of excellence and tireless devotion to the development of the science of gemmology brought international esteem and recognition to the Gubelin Laboratory.
